Using basic elements (spheres, straight lines, diagonals), I explored various shape variations within a fixed cubic format. Through continuous replication, I aimed to experiment with the loss of detail and the creation of new images across different mediums.

The focus of this experiment lies in the replication process, reflecting how Ebony Furniture imagery evolved over its three centuries of existence. By minimizing direct visual references to ebony furniture, I highlighted the inevitable loss of detail in this repetitive process, using simplified cubic units to represent this transformation.

I identified the cubic structure as the original form of 17th-century ebony furniture. Despite following the same set of rules, each variation developed unique forms and silhouettes, yet remained tied to the original in some way. The goal was to examine how random replication processes, through both 2D and 3D mediums, diverge from the original form.
