This project intertwines the essence of Katendrecht in the year 2092, emblematic of Rotterdam's gentrification, with the organic attributes of mushrooms.
The aim is to envision a space for the near future and bring it to life through a sculpture and animation, utilizing materials and scanned models of Katendrecht.

Katendrecht, in 2092, where gentrification has been ongoing, this city has already been fully developed. It is difficult to construct additional buildings, and the outflow and inflow of the population are also being actively carried out. In addition, the rise in sea level made it difficult to expand as before, so a stacked development method was chosen to fully utilize the previously developed space.

As an alternative, a building in the form of an Organic cluster was introduced. Based on the existing Basements, additional groups grow and have a circulating structure. Over time, the colony size adjusts. It has cycles of 3 and 5 years. The specific period set is a figure that takes into account the characteristics of the residents of Katendrecht. In 2092, 87% of the residents of Katendrecht are foreign immigrants, with the characteristic of moving to other areas after about 3 and 5 years. In line with this, (Organic Structural Building) will start to grow vertically after going through a foundation expansion process for about half a year.

As a result, (Organic Structural Building) has distinct organic characteristics. This structure is an ecological structure that is encountered for the first time from the outside and, like living things, changes shape every quarter. And several organic constructions can grow at the same time, depending on the size of the residence ground. When each structure reaches its maximum height, the geometry of its contact surface may be distorted due to the expansion of the higher layer. This may appear competitive, yet it is a natural device designed to prevent one dominant structure from dominating the circulatory structure.

Decomposition starts slowly after a given amount of time, such as three or five years. It progressively decomposes from the higher layer and lowers, similar to the decay of organic materials. The structural organic material that has decomposed is placed on the bottom layer and recycled as a raw material for the next construction. Residents are told of this procedure six months before the start of disassembly and are given time to prepare for migration. New migrants are given priority, similar to the circular structure of the Organic Structural Building.
